September 2017
9/27 - PLC Early Out 12:50 EL/1:00 HS
The Kaysinger Conference JH Art Contest
was last Thursday. We went to the Missouri State Fair grounds and drew for two hours (had to be something they could see). We were competing against up to 16 kids from each each school, so a total of 176 kids.

We earned 4 third place ribbons:
Taylor Joronen in pencil
Melody Hurd in color pencil
Sami Wright in pastel
Savannah Moser in charcoal

and with a 4th place ribbon:
Angela Dixon in marker

Their artwork is hanging in the commons, along with the group activity image of Vincent Van Gogh. Each student was given a small fragment of the image and had to draw it into the larger grid. The teacher who prepared it reversed the columns, so it is a bit scrambled, but our students figured it out and tried to adjust.

In partnership with the community, we educate our youth to maximize their unique capabilities by providing a safe and challenging environment where standards are high, learning is the priority, and civic responsibility is instilled.
The high performance of this school is achieved through the partnership of the community, parents, students, and faculty. This partnership results in all students excelling in all possible endeavors to become lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and productive citizens.
